For the third year in a row, the Oklahoma Sooners' football team has added a pair of brothers to its recruiting class. In 2023, it was Dasan and Daeh McCullough. This year, it was Peyton and Eli Bowen.
For 2025, they are adding another Hawkins brother. Last season, the Sooners brought in Oklahoma Freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr., and next year, his younger brother Maliek Hawkins will be joining the team after committing recently.

Maliek is a 6'2 ", 185-pound185-pound cornerback from Allen, Texas, who chose the Sooners over Arkansas, Mississippi State, and the Texas Longhorns. He has a ton of potential and a size that you can't teach.
We know that Venables is getting to work with recruiting this year, but the number of big-time defensive guys he is bringing in is more than impressive. Hawkins may be able to help the team immediately as a freshman.
Oklahoma now has its second secondary commitment, with Hawkins and, of course, three-star safety Marcus Wimberly. Hawkins gives Oklahoma its 12th commit of the 2025 class, currently ranked 6th in the country per 247Sports.
