Bills DB Damar Hamlin blasts Antonio Brown for controversial social media post

Former All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown is no stranger to controversy.

On Friday, he found himself in yet another scandalous situation after making a questionable post on social media. The post on X, formerly known as Twitter, seemed to make light of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin's cardiac arrest during the 2022 season.

Hamlin responded later Friday morning, which set off a back-and-forth exchange filled with profanities between the two.

"You just DM me on Monday? guess you playing lame games on twitter with my situation because I ain’t DM you back," Hamlin wrote. "I pray God don’t ever let me turn into a burnt out old head like you.. I used to look up to you damn near s--- sad frfr. Talk bout a clone bring the real AB back!"

The defensive back also included a message with an apparent slew of direct messages that Brown has sent to him, along with a note of disappointment.

"Been in my DM over a year talking to yourself. You was supposed to be an example setter," Hamlin wrote. "Now you the biggest weirdo we know! Get off twitter and go do some work with some kids or something. #PrayForAB"

It makes sense that Hamlin "used to look up to" Brown.

The seven-time Pro Bowler spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010-18. Hamlin is from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and played five seasons at the University of Pittsburgh from 2016-20.

Hamlin was originally drafted by the Bills in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and played in 14 games during his rookie season.

The 26-year-old went into cardiac arrest during Buffalo's Week 17 "Monday Night Football" game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2, 2023. He spent much of last year recovering.

Hamlin's eventual return to game action last season was one of the feel-good stories of the year, but some folks, like Brown, are still making jokes about the scary situation.
