Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes details on how he plans to snatch the GOAT title from Tom Brady
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

Patrick Mahomes has already achieved a lot in the 1st 7 seasons of his NFL career. Most important, is his tally of 3 Super Bowls. Naturally that has brought him into the GOAT conversations where a certain Tom Brady sits atop. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback revealed his plans to snatch that title from Brady.

The 3-time Super Bowl MVP was a guest on IMPAULSIVE, the podcast with Logan Paul. Co-host Mike Majlak asked Patrick Mahomes what his route is to be the greatest quarterback of all time.

I think I just have to do what I just did these first 7 years. Again 3 more times. It's gonna take consistency man, longevity. But, at the end of the day, all I can do is go out there and try to win. And then let that all handle itself. Everybody's trying to be the greatest they can possibly be. So, it puts a high standard for me to chase, which I love it. Patrick Mahomes replied

The former Texas Tech standout basically suggested that he will stick to the plan of consistent success. Only then can he come close to Tom Brady’s 7 Super Bowls.

Essentially, he suggested that if he keeps his fitness going, he could possibly increase his longevity. By aiming for a long career, he can keep his Super Bowl window open. Having won 3 already, he needs to win at least 4 more to bring his name into the GOAT conversation.

Patrick Mahomes suggested that to him, Tom Brady is the greatest football player of all time. Especially his career in the last few years elevated him to that level. Mahomes has Brady’s offensive records in his sights.

Patrick Mahomes needs Chiefs’ help to become GOAT

If there is anything that Tom Brady’s career showed it is that a consistent system is required to regularly challenge for Super Bowls. He had that in New England and also had a decently good team in Tampa Bay. Patrick Mahomes will need the help of his team to become the GOAT.

The Kansas City Chiefs can help by continuing with their current system. This system has focused on adding players who can be best used to exploit the incredible array of passing skills the 28-year-old possesses. Subsequently, in this year’s NFL draft, they seemed to have followed the requirements of their system.

Drafting speedy receivers and offensive linemen will only go on to ensure that Patrick Mahomes is in the best possible situation to win a few more Super Bowls. Only then can he catch and surpass Tom Brady as the GOAT.
